Resize a photo or signature for an online visa form

Visa form rejects your photo or signature file? Pick the form, frame your photo, and get a JPG with the pixel size and file size from the official rules. Your photo never leaves your device.

This sets pixel size, shape and file size only. It does not check head size, background, lighting or expression, and it does not change a photo's background. Check the official rules linked above before you submit.

How it works

Pick the form, choose a photo, then drag and zoom until your face or signature fills the frame. The tool saves a JPG at the pixel size shown and looks for the highest JPG quality under the file-size limit. If the form also sets a minimum, it raises the quality to reach it. The finished file is opened again to check its pixel size and file size before you can download it.

Sizes use 1 KB = 1,000 bytes. Minimums are met counting 1 KB as 1,024 bytes, so the file passes whichever way a form counts. The DS-160 page does not state a minimum in KB; the 54 KB minimum is worked out from its rule that compression must be 20:1 or less (600×600×3 bytes ÷ 20).

The India e-Visa page asks for a square JPG of 10 KB to 1 MB with no pixel rule. The tool also meets the regular visa guide (350 to 1000 px, up to 300 KB), so the photo is safe under both.

For the OCI signature, the tool evens out shadows and turns the paper white. Move the cut-off slider if strokes fade or grey patches remain.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens inside your browser, so your photo and signature stay on your phone or computer.

Questions

Will the form accept my photo?

It cannot promise that. Officials also judge the head size, background, lighting and expression, which this tool does not check. Canada's IRCC is not included: its online photo rules do not allow cropping or editing the photo file.

Why is my file under the minimum?

Very plain, small or blurry photos compress to few bytes even at top quality. Use the original camera photo, not a screenshot or a copy sent through a chat app.

Convert HEIC photos with HEIC to JPG first. For a printed passport photo, use the passport photo resizer; to clean a signature for other forms, use the signature cleaner.
