How it works
The tool tries different JPG quality levels to find the sharpest version that stays under your limit. If even low quality is too big, it reduces the pixel dimensions a little at a time until the file fits. For a passport or visa photo, crop it to the right size first with the passport photo resizer.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser, so the photo stays on your phone or computer.
Why is my result a JPG?
JPG gives the smallest files for photos, and nearly every application form accepts it. Transparent areas in PNG files become white.
